Army uses Myspace:
The Army uses Myspace to gain new recruits through the internet.
The Myspace idea originated in the Japanese Marine Corps.
The army established a Myspace account in 2006 and has used it wisely.
The AKO:
The AKO (Army Knowledge Online) was created so people can know more about the army, check their status and find out how to enroll.
Files on the AKO are encrypted for security reasons.
The AKO was started in 1999.
Recruting Statistics:
Army recruiters resorted to using $20,000 bonuses and Pentium Laptops to get new members.
The army spent $150 million on an ad campaign in 2001.
The Army was able to meet their recruiting goals 56 straight months in a row.
Recruiting was a lot harder in the 1900's.
