Title:Could Biotech Help the Environment? Author: Laurent Belsie Source: Christian Science Monitor Publication Date: June 27, 2001 Page Number(s): n.p. Database: SIRS Discoverer
1)I discovered that biotechnology may help the nviroment.Such as reducing pollution.
2)Biotechnology is also helpfull to farmers. Acording to some research, some plants are adapted to a herbicide-tolerant such as the tomato, that lets farmers use one general-purpose herbicide. Thus they save money and don't have to use pesticides with certain chemicals.
3)Reducing pesticide use in some crops is already saving energy in factories and replacing petroleum-based products.
1) I thought that the way some plants adapted to herbecides is interesting.Like the bioengineered tomato and corn.Instead of damaging them with pesticides containing certain chemicals.
2)Early research suggesting genetically modified corn was harming monarch butterflies. But why it does not affect us.
1) I still have a question why they call biotechnology a ticking time bomb for the environment.
