B.The development of biotechnology will be a major development for all of agriculture.
C. China, is the largest investor in Asia in biotech research.

A. The outlook to 2015 points to continued growth in the global number of hectares planted with biotech crops--up to 200 million hectares in at least 40 countries.

C. Folate deficiencies remain a problem in many underdeveloped countries.

B. Deficiencies of the nutrient have been linked to birth defects, slow growth rates and other developmental problems in children, as well as numerous health issues in adults, such as anemia.

A.) The human race has methodically improved crop plants through selective breeding for many thousands of years.
B.) The root of genetic engineering in crops lies in the 1977 discovery that soil bug Agrobacterium tumefaciens can be used as a tool to inject potentially useful foreign genes into plants.
C.)Critics fear that what they call "Frankenstein foods" could have unforeseen, adverse health effects on consumers.
